Tiny Tots room

Our Tiny Tots room is specifically for children aged around 18 months to 2½ years.  There is one large room with an adjoining, sand and water area, changing area with toilets and access to outdoors.  The room offers a large space, rich with enhanced continuous provision which meets the needs and interests of all children within the room and also gives them the opportunity to free flow into the outdoor area.  It also provides the children with a more structured routine to their day preparing them for their next steps at nursery.
Tiny tots have 3 pet guinea pigs, Boris, Ant and Dec.  This allows the children to start understanding how to care for living things and they enjoy the responsibility of helping to care for them.
A cuddly cat called 'Claude' is sent home each weekend with a child.  Claude spends the weekend at home with the children and we ask the parents to complete a diary with photos.  This helps promote parent partnership and communication skills for the children when they are showing and telling what they have been up to.

Zumba

Tiny tots have a weekly Zumba session with our dance teacher Sally.  Zumba is known to increase children’s range of motions, endurance and strength and helps to improve coordination. Zumba is intended to be a social experience, and when children exercise together, they learn to work with a group. It boosts confidence and provides an outlet for children to express emotions.
