Supertots Partnerships with Parents

Communication with parents is important to us, a three way relationship is paramount. We adopt an open door policy where we actively encourage parents to share the nursery day information with the child’s key person and with the nursery’s managers.

We feel it is important to see that your child is happy and content in the environment provided and discuss your child’s development and progress.

From when you and your child first join Supertots you will find that we are warm and welcoming and keen to get to know you. Partnerships between parents, children and members of staff are naturally built up whilst your child grows with us and we welcome your involvement at anytime.

We share information with you by:

• On induction, your child’s routine is shared with us and individual needs identified.
• Regular newsletters
• Our star activity sheet’ we ask you to share the experiences you have with your child, e.g. baking, a trip out; this helps us plan for your child.
• We hold parents evenings twice a year. This is a lovely informal meeting where you can discuss your child’s progress with their key person. We will share their learning journeys with you and ask for feedback about the care your child receives from the nursery.
• Throughout the year we regularly share with you the Early Years Foundation profile. This is an assessment tool to plot how your child is developing, and a useful tool to hand to their school.
• We have a parent liaison officer, who helps other parents to share their experiences and skills, they will organise meetings and keep the notice board up to date with advertisements and business ventures.
• The pre-school children are sent home with an oxford reading book for you to share with your child and provide us with important feedback.
• We have a much loved dog named ’Harvey’ he goes home with a different child every week-end and his experiences recorded in his diary.
• We have a suggestion box.
• We hold a Fun Day during the summer months, a fabulous day for both parents and children.
• We actively encourage parents to ‘chat’ daily to us about any concerns or worries.
• Daily sheets are sent home with the babies and toddlers containing vital information about your child’s day.
