The children at Supertots are given a choice of cereal at 8.00am for breakfast. At 10.15am they are given a choice of fresh fruit. At noon they have a two course meal for lunch and at 3.00pm a substantial and nutritional tea.
We know that giving children good nutrition is the best gift we can present them with!
Between being weaned off milk to the age of five children are very active and grow extremely quickly so they need a diet that provides adequate amounts of calories and nutrients.
We are accredited with the Golden Grin award – Gold status, which we gained by fulfilling the criteria set. This involved offering a balanced menu with an emphasis on healthier choices whilst meeting the standards of good practice in food hygiene.
We prepare home cooked delicious, meals and snacks for our children including a wide range of foods. We use fresh produce and include at least five portions of fruit and vegetable every day.
We ensure that mealtimes are a happy occasion, actively encouraging conversation and the tasting of new foods. The children sit down at small laid out tables and are served their lunch by a member of staff who sits with them.
Eating together with other children encourages even the faddiest of toddlers to taste and enjoy foods they would not normally eat at home.
Supertots is happy to cater for special diets, whether for reasons of health or religion.
